Chromium-powered systems aim for speed, quickness, and safety. Also, most operating systems tend to be user-friendly. Primarily built around cloud-based software, this kind of program works well for both students and businesses.

 ChromeOS Flex:

Google created an operating system that can be downloaded for free to turn older computers and Macs into devices similar to Chromebooks. These operating systems zip up fast and update software automatically without any problems. They use sandboxing and Google's Safesight to make your computer more secure, especially from viruses and scams.

 It has encryption, remote erase, verified boot, and TPM support. You can make your old computer work better again by choosing the best option.

 FydeOS:

FydeOS is an operating system created in China and the United Kingdom by Fyde Innovations, based on Chromium technology. A Chrome OS replica lacking pre-Google searches. It offers both Android app support alongside all ChromeOS Flex functionalities. Another crucial aspect is that this software is freely available for anyone to use and modify.

PROS:

 - Linux Support

CONS:

 - Updates

 - IYKYK.


2. Linux-Based OSs

Linux versions are famous for working well together, being secure, and needing specific hardware.

 Zorin OS & Zorin OS Lite:

Zorin OS offers a full-fledged Windows-like environment on a Linux platform. Linux terminals and Windows applications are supported by it. It has various options for personalization.

The lite version caters to older pcs and maintains an easy-to-use interface that accommodates all daily tasks.

CONS:

 - Premium Locked features

 - A bit heavy (Zorin OS)

 Linux Lite:

Linux Lite makes it easy for people who use Windows to switch over. A productive operating system equipped with a pre-installed Libre Office package.

 

Lubuntu:

Lubuntu offers an efficient LXQT interface that conserves system resources. Fast, reliable, and easily accessible through extensive Ubuntu software libraries.

Windows-based OSs

Standard Windows setup uses up lots of computer power. Some developers prefer modifying and reducing the size of official versions of NTDev. These versions focus mainly on making them work better with old computers.

Tiny10/11:

Tiny 10 and Tiny 11 are simpler versions of Windows 10 and 11. These versions are different from the original OSs by removing bloatware, unnecessary apps, and services. They can run on 1-2 GB RAM and take less disk space.
